Communication Support for
Queer & Poly Relationships
Most relationship struggles are not about lack of love. They are about patterns that escalate faster than anyone intended.
You might find conversations quickly turning tense, repetitive arguments that never fully resolve, or moments where one or more partners feel overwhelmed and shut down. Many couples and polycules we work with are thoughtful and deeply committed, but get stuck in cycles of defensiveness, misattunement, or emotional flooding.
At All Kinds Club Counselling, we offer queer-affirming, poly-aware relationship therapy that helps partners slow these cycles down and rebuild communication that actually feels safe, clear, and repairable.
What We Believe
You are the expert on your own life. We don’t “fix” you. We help you tune into what matters and what gets in the way.
Mental health is connected. We look at your whole picture: body, mind, relationships, identity, culture, and environment.
Therapy is active. We’ll reflect, but also practice new skills, experiment with tools, and give you things to try in real life.
Identity matters. Gender, sexuality, race, neurodivergence, culture — all of it shapes how you experience the world. We won’t leave that at the door.
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it’s deep conversations, sometimes it’s practical strategies, sometimes it’s laughter in the middle of hard stuff.
How It Feels to Work With Us
Expect a mix of compassion, curiosity, and straight-up honesty. We might slow things down so you can really notice what’s happening in your body. We might map out patterns or cycles you keep bumping into. We might help you connect dots between past experiences and present habits. Whatever the path, you won’t be doing it alone — and you won’t be judged for being human.
Tools We Use
We’re trained in evidence-based modalities like:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy): untangling unhelpful thought loops
Psychodynamic therapy: making sense of old patterns that still sneak into today
SFBT (Solution-Focused): zooming in on what’s already working
Somatic practices: noticing what your body’s telling you
Mindfulness & ACT: building flexibility and presence
Relational therapy: focusing on the space between you and others
But here’s the thing: we don’t believe in forcing you into a box. We blend approaches so therapy feels like it’s actually built for you, not a textbook.
