ARPIT KUMAR

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
(she/her)

Hey, I’m Arpit (she/her). I am a bisexual, cisgender woman of South Asian descent, and I offer a warm, humble, and present approach to therapy. My work is guided by a deep reverence for the human experience and how culture, society, sexuality, and family dynamics shape our sense of self.

I don’t believe people are broken – more often, they’ve become disconnected from themselves. Together, we’ll work toward gently coming back into connection: with your emotions, your body, and your inner voice.

My approach is humanistic, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and rooted in relational and experiential practices. I work collaboratively with clients to explore how their life stories have shaped them, what they’ve learned to silence, and what might be ready to emerge. Together, we begin to reconnect with your needs, desires, and inner knowing – not to fix, but to better understand and honour yourself.

I support people who feel stuck in old patterns, disconnected from their inner world, or carrying shame about parts of themselves. I’m especially drawn to the places we’ve been taught to hide. My work is informed by attachment theory, Jungian therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems, and existential approaches, and I may incorporate creativity and artistic expression where it feels supportive.

As an AuDHD, highly sensitive person who grew up between languages and cultural systems, I offer neurodivergence-affirming therapy in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. I aim to meet clients in their full complexity, without rushing insight or bypassing emotion.

If you’re looking for a space where you don’t have to explain yourself or shrink to be understood, I’d be honoured to hold that space with you.

Get To Know Arpit

β₯ I have a cat named Freya, who I truly adore and who very much believes this is her world and I just live in it.
You may see her wander into session when she decides she needs attention.

β₯ I have an undergraduate degree in Criminology and a master’s in Public Policy, which deeply shape how I think about systems, power, and the contexts we exist within β€” not just who you are, but what has shaped you.

β₯ I paint and love creating art. It is something I have been doing for as long as I can remember β€” probably since I was about three β€” and it continues to be one of the ways I make sense of the world.

β₯ I can swim in open water, which started as a way to face one of my deepest fears, drowning β€” or touching something sensory-icky in the water. I still feel that fear, and I do it anyway. It feels like a pretty accurate reflection of how I move through life β€” doing things that matter to me while holding fear alongside.

β₯ I am drawn to integrating spirituality and esoteric practices into therapeutic work β€” using things like tarot imagery for self-exploration, or supporting the integration of psychedelic experiences in ways that centre meaning-making and harm reduction.
