Hi, Iโm Mercadez (she/her), a pansexual psychotherapist-in-training who offers a warm, collaborative, and deeply human space for people who want to feel understood without having to shrink or perform.
I came into this work through an unexpected shift โ what started as a path toward dietetics and eating-disorder care slowly evolved into a love of psychology, identity work, and supporting people through the nonlinear process of healing. That turn ended up being one of the most meaningful surprises of my life and led me to the kind of work where people get to show up fully as themselves.
Personally, I am doing ongoing work around reconnecting with my Indigenous heritage. Because that process is still unfolding, Iโm mindful of holding space for clients exploring identity without positioning myself as an expert in Indigenous healing. I show up with honesty, humility, and a deep respect for the complexity of identity work.
My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in real human connection. Iโm a therapist who shows up as a person first โ someone whoโs curious, attuned, and here to walk alongside you. Together, we slow down and explore the patterns, emotions, and protective parts that shape how you move through the world. I draw from ACT, IFS, and CBT, and tailor everything to your identities, lived experiences, cultural context, and the realities youโre navigating.
I support people who are carrying trauma, anxiety that hits hard in the body, burnout, or the weight of being โthe responsible one.โ Many of the clients I work with are exploring identity, navigating family or cultural expectations, unpacking intergenerational trauma, or wanting support around intimacy, boundaries, or relationship structures.
My hope is that our work together helps you feel more grounded in who you are, more spacious in your body, and more connected to the parts of yourself that deserve to take up room. You deserve a place where you can breathe, be messy, be honest, and be fully yourself โ and Iโd be honoured to hold that space with you.
