STACEY FONSECA

Clinical Intern Therapist
(she/her)

Hi, I’m Stacey (she/her), a clinical intern therapist completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology practicum under clinical supervision. I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are – messy, overwhelmed, uncertain, hopeful, or all of the above. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you take the first step.

As a bisexual therapist, I’m passionate about creating an affirming space where sexuality, gender, relationships, and identity can be explored without judgment or assumptions. My background in community-based harm reduction has also shaped my belief that people are more than their hardest moments and deserve to be met with compassion and respect.

My approach is warm, curious, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I’m less interested in putting you in a box and more interested in understanding the person sitting in front of me. Together, we can explore where you’ve been, what you’re carrying, and where you want to go next.

I’m especially drawn to supporting adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationships, self-worth, boundaries, and identity. My developing practice is informed by person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution-Focused, and Narrative approaches.

You don’t have to become a different person to build a life that feels more like your own. Sometimes, therapy is about finding your way back to yourself.

Get To Know Stacey

β₯ I’m happiest outside, especially hiking, exploring new places, and finding a good mountain view. I’m always up for an adventure.

β₯ I’m a huge music lover, and I have a soft spot for live music. There’s nothing quite like discovering a great band and getting completely lost in the moment.

β₯ I’m a proud mom of three, so my life outside of work is equal parts adventure, chaos, laughter, and someone always asking me for a snack.

β₯ I love deep conversations, ridiculous humour, and people who aren’t afraid to be a little weird. Life is too short to take yourself too seriously

β₯ My ideal day involves good coffee, good company, being somewhere beautiful, and probably ending the day with a great meal.
